Synopsis: Years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class.

This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone could even dream he’d turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.

In case you live under a rock and don't know who Trip Wiley is, just know that these days, he’s the actor found at the top of every casting director’s wish list. He’s incredibly talented and insanely gorgeous, the combination of which has made him very rich, very famous and very desirable.

And not just to casting directors, either.

I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.

I should know. I was one of them.

And my life hasn’t been the same since.

About the Author: T. Torrest is a New Adult fiction writer from the U.S. She has written many books, but prays that only a handful of them will ever see the light of day. Her stories are geared toward readers of any age that know how to enjoy a good laugh and a dreamy romance.
Ms. Torrest was a child of the eighties, but has since traded in her Rubik's cube for a laptop and her Catholic school uniform for a comfy pair of yoga pants. She likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. She's not much into health food, but she does enjoy talking about herself in the third person.
A lifelong Jersey girl, she currently resides there with her husband and two sons.

Paperback release: May 27, 2014

the-lemon-orchard-by-luanne-rice-paperback-medium

Year after year, Luanne Rice’s fans eagerly await her next book. Their enthusiasm is soon to be rewarded with The Lemon Orchard, Rice’s romantic new love story between two people from seemingly different worlds.

In the five years since Julia last visited her aunt and uncle’s home in Malibu, her life has been turned upside down by her daughter’s death. She expects to find nothing more than peace and solitude as she house-sits with only her dog, Bonnie, for company. But she finds herself drawn to the handsome man who oversees the lemon orchard. Roberto expertly tends the trees, using the money to support his extended Mexican family. What connection could these two people share? The answer comes as Roberto reveals the heartbreaking story of his own loss—a pain Julia knows all too well, but for one striking difference: Roberto’s daughter was lost but never found. And despite the odds he cannot bear to give up hope.

Set in the sea and citrus-scented air of the breathtaking Santa Monica Mountains, The Lemon Orchard is an affirming story about the redemptive power of compassion and the kind of love that seems to find us when we need it most.

SYNOPSIS:

That one single moment in life when you find that special someone, everything stops. Nothing else matters in life but them. You. Us together. That one single look. That one single touch. Night after night of pleasure, unexplainable raw, dirty and mind-blowing pleasure. A pleasure when you forget everything in this world around you exists but the both of you. Every single moment spent together is cherished as if it was your last time together. Nothing in this world mattered more than us. That’s what I thought. In one single moment, it all comes crashing down around me. I thought I had it all: love, trust, honesty. What a lie that was. Secrets, deceit, pain, a whole lot of that. Everything was a lie. Our whole time together, nothing was real. My heart was torn from my chest, piece by piece, until nothing was left. The day my life ended, when the world came crashing around my feet, was the day I said goodbye to Dante Davenport. He ruined everything. He destroyed me completely and obliterated my heart in the process. Life will never be the same again.

EXCERPT:

I couldn’t wipe the grin off my face as I slid into my truck. I had woken with a raging hard on with Amelia’s ass pressed into my dick. I slowly slipped from my side of the bed and watched on as she rolled over onto her back, arm above her head facing my side, her left leg bent up and completely and utterly naked. My eyes devoured her from the tip of her head all the way down her lush body. If I could get any harder I did when she dragged her own hand down her body and rested on her lower stomach. I couldn’t hold back my desire of her.

I had woken her with my mouth between her legs, the sweet taste of her nectar still lingered on my lips. As I turned out of our street and headed towards headquarters, I ran my tongue along my lip savouring the taste. Remembering her sweet pleads for me to fuck her, the moans that turned me inside out and the way she gripped my cock before I came inside of her. My back stung from her nails as she scratched down my back as she screamed my name.

Sex with Amelia was nothing I had even imagined, but something was different, her taste was sweeter than normal, more sensitive than usual and she wanted me constantly, well she did originally, but it was like every second she was rubbing herself against me. The last month was sex, sex and more sex. I wasn’t complaining about it, I loved every second of being inside or her. Her wet pussy. Her mouth, shit I couldn’t keep thinking of her this way. I only just left and I was hard for her again. Shifting into second gear as I rounded the corner, at 6a.m., there was traffic everywhere. If I left it a little longer I could have escaped this madness, but if that happened, I’d end up being late for work, as I’d be buried deep within Amelia’s core.

Excerpt
Olivia awoke from an afternoon nap, admiring the beautiful man sleeping peacefully next to her. She glanced around the large bedroom, the duvet and several pillows thrown on the floor. A grin spread across her face, thinking about the amazing sex she had with Alexander just a few hours earlier. She pried herself out of his arms and went in search of a much-needed bathroom.

Grabbing her jeans and sweater, she threw them on before quietly walking over to the door, thankful when it didn’t creak and wake up Alexander. After finding a bathroom, she went to see if his mother needed any help getting things ready for that evening.

The house was eerily quiet as she walked down the stairs searching for Colleen. “They must all be outside,” she said to herself. She headed in the direction of the back door, when a room off the hallway caught her eye. She stopped dead in her tracks, a memory rushing back. Her fifth birthday. Her mama had made her a cake in the shape of a Care Bear. She could have sworn she remembered her mama and the green-eyed boy from the dream sitting beside her in that very room, singing to her as she blew out the candles on that cake.

Turning, she headed toward the ornate dining room, the table and chairs all covered with sheets. Walking around the room, she felt as if she had been there before, but that was impossible. She hadn’t even known Alexander for a year and this was the first time he invited her home with him. Still, the smell and sounds in that room were strangely familiar.

She scanned the walls and her eyes settled on a large picture frame covered with a white sheet. The other portraits weren’t hidden. Curious, she slowly made her way to the center of the room where the enormous frame hung. She gingerly began to raise the sheet, wondering what was underneath.

“Olivia, dear! There you are!” Colleen called out, startling her.

She jumped, placing her hand over her chest. “Colleen. I’m sorry. I came downstairs to see if you needed any help, and I guess I got a little sidetracked.” She shrugged her shoulders, feeling guilty that she was caught snooping around.

Colleen walked over to Olivia and placed her hands on her shoulders, trying to lead her out of the room and away from the large family portrait of Alexander and Olivia as children. “I understand. It happens to the best of us.”

“Colleen,” Olivia said, raising her voice. “Why is that portrait covered up?”

She stopped, turning to look at her. She hated having to lie to the poor girl, particularly when her son should have simply told her the truth by now. He swore he would tell her, and she didn’t want to interfere…not yet, anyway. “I’m sorry, Olivia. It’s just that whenever Alexander comes home, I try to rid the house of any memories of…”

“Oh,” she said, understanding. “I should have known.” She turned to head back upstairs, her shoulders slightly dropping.

“Olivia, dear!” Colleen called out.

She stopped and faced her.

“He loves you very much. I’ve never seen him so happy in all his life, even when he was a little boy.” She smiled before retreating back outside, leaving Olivia alone with her thoughts about Alexander and why the dining room in that house brought back memories of her fifth birthday.

Stories and scripts: An Anthology by Zack Love

Thought-provoking, dreamy, sad, and hilarious, this collection of works by Zack Love takes you on a diverse and unforgettable literary journey through a variety of topics, themes, and emotions. The anthology totals about 73,000 words and contains a novelette, four short stories, a theater play, and a screenplay.

These seven spellbinding stories spanning several styles and genres include a dramatic romance, a satire of the mega-rich, a somber and soulful reflection on the problem of evil, humorous dating adventures, and stories driven by philosophical musings.

The anthology includes:

1) THE DOORMAN – A NOVELETTE

Alex seems to have it all: a great penthouse apartment, a lovely girlfriend, and a prestigious Wall Street job. But below the surface he is sure of nothing but his angst-ridden doubts. And when he realizes that his doorman may be God, or sent by God, he will question things like never before.

This novelette is a story of New York doormen, tormented love, empty office life, and the theological questions that arise in response to the horrors of evil.

2) CENTRAL PARK SONG – A SCREENPLAY (ROMANCE)

Can love really conquer all? Rodney is a passionate black man with brilliant talents but a mental illness that leaves him homeless. Melinda is a white Manhattan law partner with an artistic soul, trapped by the pressures of corporate law, her wealthy father, and her three-year boyfriend. A charming, chance encounter leads to a magical courtship and life-changing choices that make an unlikely New York romance possible.

3) THE GRAND UNIFIED STORY – A SHORT STORY

What happens when a man and a woman meet in a way that magically involves the entire universe? When both are so keenly aware of their place in the cosmos that their connection seems to transcend their union and capture the very essence of life. This story shows how each person is a world to be discovered and how sometimes, when two worlds collide, the universe seems that much smaller.

4) CITY SOLIPSISM – A SHORT STORY

Have you ever been on a train, bus, metro/subway – or any other shared space with strangers – and started to wonder what that person right next to you is thinking? This story takes you on a journey into the mind of a man in a suit and tie on a New York City subway car, as he thinks about the woman standing awkwardly close to him. They are total strangers but their proximity is almost intimate as their hands share the same metal subway pole.

5) WAITING FOR 2000 – AN ABSURDIST COMEDY OF BILLIONAIRE PROPORTIONS

Inspired by and reminiscent of Samuel Beckett’s absurdist stage play “Waiting for Godot,” this Y2K theater comedy satirizes the frivolous extravagance of the mega-rich.

Bob’s Billionaire Boat boasts the world’s 2,000 richest people on it, and will enable them to celebrate the arrival of the year 2000 twice in a row by crossing the International Dateline on New Year's Eve 1999. The co-captains of the boat — two regular guys — keep themselves amused with endlessly silly banter while occasionally debating whether the whole thing is just a fictional stage play.

Meanwhile, two Wall Street traders who are bitter about missing the wealth cutoff for the billionaire cruise are determined to blow up the boat and thereby become the two richest people on earth.

In this satire, the zaniest billionaires ever to gather on a single vessel prove that there's still plenty to complain about at the top.

6) MY BEST VALENTINE'S DAY. EVER. – A SHORT STORY

Sammy Laffowitz is legendary for his dating disasters and sex mishaps. This time, misfortune strikes on Valentine's Day – but with a fun twist that makes Sammy seem studly for a change.

7) MY WORST VALENTINE'S DAY. EVER. – A SHORT STORY

Yi Wang is a NY bad boy who plans to make history on Valentine's Day with his female exploits. The handsome, alpha-male, Chinese-American is a corporate lawyer who usually gets his way with women, but this time he makes one stupid mistake that leaves everyone but him laughing hysterically at his epic fail.
THE DOORMAN
Why was I going to watch my hairline recede in front of two-thousand-line spreadsheets staring at me from cold, glowing monitors? Why was everyone in my office apparently so happy to be spending so many hours there, when the things they really cared about – persons, pets, pastimes – were all relegated to a few photographs on their desks? That seemed to be the formula: spend the best years of your life in an office with photos of what you really care about.

CITY SOLIPSISM
Without lifting her eyes, she takes her right hand off the [subway] bar for a moment and gently – almost sensuously – rubs the arm holding her Time magazine. She puts her hand back onto the warm, slippery bar, a few centimeters below mine, so that if I’m not careful my hand could slide down onto hers with the fits and starts of our train. She’s still reading. I look at the people around me, and I think about how New York City is such a people city. Everywhere I look, there are people. There are so many people from so many places with so many stories that I wonder how they all manage to morph into this mass of anonymity...
CENTRAL PARK SONG
Let the park live in you until it sings you a song. Taste the air of dampened wood in your mouth. Hear the autumn leaves rustling in the zephyr of your mind. See the squirrels bounding across branches hanging from your thoughts. Let your soul frolic in the smell of the park’s grass. Touch every inch of the park that your memory can fly through as if you had only two more minutes to live. And let me take you out to dinner.
THE GRAND UNIFIED STORY
“It’s this awkward because this is only the second time that we’re together,” Steve thought. He remembered how banal their first meeting was: a silly conversation in the post office about how different their mail was (he was sending a copy of his doctoral dissertation in astrophysics to a university in California and she was sending a package with some of her artwork to her aunt in Brazil). But something felt special – almost providential – about their interaction. “And the serendipity required, for her to be walking along the Charles just when I was, even though she lives a good twenty minutes away, in Boston,” he thought.
WAITING FOR 2000
AL

BC? Is that supposed to suggest something about your age? Wouldn’t AD be a little more accurate?

BC [sitting down in SAM’s seat]

BC is for “Bien Chebere.” That means very cool, in case you’re too gringo to know. It’s also one of my websites. BC dot com. I also own Latina Queen dot com. And Caliente dot com.

AL

Oh yeah? Well, I want to get a website called “Fill In The Blank dot com.”

BC

It’s already taken.

AL

How about “It’s Already Taken dot com?”

BC

It’s already taken.

AL

How about “Everything’s Already Been Taken dot com?”

BC

That one’s already been taken too.

AL

How about “That One’s Already Been Taken three dot com?”

BC

That one’s still free.

AL

How are you such an expert on the availability of domain names?

BC

I think that one’s still free too.

AL

That wasn’t a website. That was a question.
MY BEST VALENTINE'S DAY. EVER.
Sure, I’m a balding, chubby, short actuary – but I’ve had some really studly moments with the ladies, and Zack very conveniently left those out of his book. So I’m delighted to open up a bit about these particular details, in honor of Valentine’s Day (when every balding, chubby, and short actuary wants people – especially the babes out there – to know about his studly past).
MY WORST VALENTINE'S DAY. EVER.
Yes, I’m a chauvinist pig. But I’m also in my twenties and living in New York, which doesn’t help. And if you ever disrespect one of my sisters, I will break your jaw.

WTRBlog's Review:

VERY WICKED THINGS by Ilsa Madden-Mills

5 out of 5 STARS

This emotional read will touch your heart and you'll appreciate the little things.

Dovey as a little girl, lived a tough life.  Her Mother was a drug addict/ prostitute who would leave Dovey on her own for sometimes up to a few days to fend for herself through
hunger and nearly freezing to death.  Her absent father, a head mobster that is full of evil,  with no care for her or her mom but only to cause harm. The only saving grace Dovey had was the dance studio downstairs from her apartment in a poverty stricken, bad neighborhood.  Dovey fell in love with dance and was lucky enough to have Sarah, the dance instructor, take her under her wing and eventually become a mom and guardian to her.   With a lot of help from Sarah,  Dovey found herself attending one of the best private high schools around.  That's were she met Cuba, the most popular boy in school, but he also has a story to tell.  He faced with guilt and grief that struck his family.  Afraid to love anyone else with the chance to also loose them he meanly pushed Dovey away when he starts to realize that this could be his true love. Will these characters find the balance they need to have a real relationship or is it enough to destroy what little love they posses.  This read has so many types of feelings, from chills and excitement, to the feeling of sorrow and hope it will leave you satisfied until the next great read.

#2 of the Briarcrest Academy Series
by
Ilsa Madden-Mills

I got out of the shower
and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba.
The door opened, and
like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom.
“Think I need a shower,
too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt.
What?
Now?
Trying to play it cool
and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his
track pants and the obvious bulge he sported.
Oh.
Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big?
Just, yeah. That
thought got stuck in my head and went round and round.
“You staying?” he asked, a grin working his
face. Pleased at my open admiration, probably.
“No,” I said, but made
no move to go. ‘Cause I had no shame when it came to catching a glimpse of his
muscular body.

it my mission to claim her, to put her notch on my bedpost.
Because no girl can
resist the Heartbreaker of BA.

But I never planned
on destroying her.

I never planned on
wrecking the one thing that could save me.

The Keith
Milano Memorial Fund was established to help raise awareness about the
devastating and deadly disease that is mental illness. Keith’s spirit and
laughter is kept alive through our efforts to increase awareness about mental
illness and to raise money for education and imperative research. Keith often
struggled with society’s perception of mental illness.  Our hope is that
by having the strength to say that Keith was “Bipolar” we can strip away the
stigma and help others to be more open about their disease.

WTRBlog's REVIEW:

Excerpt
for Very Wicked Things
Book

“Good,” he said, his
smile broadening.

He pivoted to turn on
the shower, and my eyes betrayed me again, admiring the muscles in his back,
checking out how they twitched and rippled when he moved. Football and rowing
had been good to him. My fingers itched to know how they’d feel underneath my
hands. Which was stupid because we had nothing in common. Not a rich Highland
Park boy and a poor girl from Ratcliffe.
And most importantly,
he was a player, not to be trusted.
He hooked his thumbs
into his pants, paused a moment—maybe waiting to see if I’d run from the room?—but
when I didn’t budge, he slid them and his underwear off. My mouth opened. Cuba
Hudson, the most popular guy at Briarcrest was standing right in front of me,
naked and beautiful. And like the cocky bastard he was, he posed for me, his big-ass
biceps and chiseled abs making me vibrate all over. Need for him slammed into
me.

Did
I say he was hot?
Well, I was wrong.
He was off-the-charts,
no-holds-barred, freaking going make-me-lose-my-mind-right-there delicious. The
ultimate man-candy, the kind I knew to stay away from, yet here I was, ogling
him.
“Still leaving?” he
asked huskily.
“Any minute,” I said in
a weak voice, backing up to the wall and propping myself up. “Just chillin’.
Shower wore me out. I might need to hold this wall up for a sec.”
“I want you to stay,”
he said, eyes at half-mast, glowing with heat.
“Why?” I said, aching
to touch him. But that was crazy. I was a virgin, and I didn’t know jack about

touching a guy’s you-know-what.
“Look at me, Dovey.”
I tore my eyes from his
manhood, blushing.
His eyes burned. “There’s
a sense of urgency in my head. Like our time is limited.”
I nodded. Yeah, same
here.
“And, I’ll be honest, I
don’t want to rush you, but I’m dying to sink into you. I want to set you on
fire with need for me.” He ghosted his hands over the steel rod between his
legs. Once, twice, and—holy shizzle, he didn’t stop.
My chest rose faster
and faster, and I tried to chill-out, but I couldn’t.
He lowered his voice. “Kiss
me again, Dovey.”

Oh. “That’s a terrible
idea, Cuba. Cause you’re naked, and I’m turned on because you’re naked. And
you’re touching yourself. And you’re
naked
.” I sucked in a sharp breath. “Not a good combo. Odds are we’ll end
up in that shower together or back in your bed doing the double-backed monster.”
“Then join me in the
shower. I’ll be good. For you.” He arched his back, his hands still doing that
back and forth that was driving me insane.
Liar,
liar, pants on fire
, I thought. No way he would he be good.
Because he was the Heartbreaker
of Briarcrest Academy. And one wicked boy.
