Synopsis

When FBI Special Agent Kate Ross is injured in a drive-by shooting, Hamilton Investigation and Security, Inc. (H.I.S.) leader Jesse Hamilton, believing she is the target of a killer seeking revenge against him, pulls the full force of H.I.S. into action to protect her.

Kate doesn’t believe Jesse, the only man to make her seethe one minute and lust after him the next, when he approaches her with a note from the Facilitator stating someone he loved would die shortly, and he knows in his gut it’s Kate. After a second attempt on her life, she can no longer fight his protection or her attraction to him.

After making a mistake that cost his wife her life, Jesse vowed to never love again, but Kate stirs something in him that puts his protective instincts into overdrive. This is a standalone thriller romance with suspense and a who done it to boot! The ending will surprise you while the begging and middle will have you swooning for Jesse, founder and head of the H.I.S. protection team, which by the way includes all his hot and sexy brothers except for the baby bro of the family, AJ. Now that's a team I like to join! AJ seems to have to much to prove and insists on staying with the F.B.I to make his point that he can be success on his own and not rely on his older brothers. AJ along with his partner, Kate, are the top investigators and have solved the most cases in the F.B.I. for short time since joining forces. AJ and Kate are so close, their relationship is one that a brother and sister would share. Not the same for Jesse! Although you wouldn't know it, Jesse has had his eye on Kate from the first time they met. He may make thing hard for her and get her all riled but that just gets Jesse turned on more and is his way to keep his distance from her. With the involvement of H.I.S. and the F.B.I., that means Jesse and Kate have had many run-ins and AJ being his brother doubles that contact.

After a drive-by shooting targets Kate and nearly gets her killed, she finds herself lucky that Jesse happened to be walking in her direction to meet someone at the same coffee shop Kate had stopped at on her way to work. He with a grazed bullet wound and she getting shot in the dominate had, they were both lucky to be alive. But who and why? Is Jesse the reason Kate is a target? Those questions will suspend you as you want to read on to reveal the answers.

Kate's past had made her an orphan but she was lucky to be adopted by a wealthy loving family that also gave her an instant older sister. It wasn't at all a happy life with her birth parents murdered at the young age and her adoptive parents killed in an accident not long ago, left her sister, Ariana, as her only family left. Together they inherited the family fortune making it that much harder for Kate to find a man that loved her for her and not her money. That also made Kate want to stay in the F.B.I. and live to lesser means and not indulge in money and loose who she was and why she's an agent in the first place especially her birth parents murder.

Jesse is a strong, sexy, ex-military who founded H.I.S. protection along with his brothers and other ex-military,C.I.A, F.B.I, Rangers. Not that that kind of power doesn't make you want to swoon enough, but top it off he is the most loving single father to an adorable 5 yr old daughter. Jesse battles his guilt over his wife's death on a daily bases. He feels that he should have been there to prevent and protect his wife from a gas station robbery gone wrong but a phone call distracted him from getting there on time, leaving him with a 2 month old to raise with out a mother. Lucky for him he has a strong family support team that took over and has helped Jesse with his daughter but the need to allow himself to love an other has taken its toll on him. Will he face the guilt from his wife's death and let Kate in? Will Kate ever know if Jesse loves her as much as she has fall in love with him? Will the killer be caught before its to late, that is if they ever find who is behind all these attempts? The twists and turns will have you gasping and glued to this read to find out what will happen next?
