Ms. Voight has written another story with strong character development and also thru in southern charm to warm up and brake your heart.  Jonah's sudden tragic lose of his father caused him, his mom and ill sister to leave behind their country roots, sell the family farm and move to the city to look for work to pay for his sisters treatments and all the bills that have been exceeding their limits.  Jonah was looking for a night out on the new town and in desperate need of kicking back after his sucky day at his new factory job.  Walking into a local club looking for live music, his hears locked onto one of the most beautiful voices he has ever heard that also belonged to the sexiest woman he as ever seen, Lacy.  Lacy is the young sexy lead singer of Southern Nights opening act Blaze and she comes with a deep past that could tear apart Jonah's heart.  All Jonah wanted was to get close to her, and luckily For him, he finds himself in the right place at the right time. From a job offer as her security/bouncer to Lacy,to instant fame as a country singer and partners with Lacy at this local club, being under someone else's control may tear these two apart.  All is not what they always seem, but will Lacy only see what's shown or will see see past these acts of increasing Jonah's fame?  This can be Jonah's and his families ticket out of poverty but at a price that Jonah never expected to pay, possibly losing the love of his life.   What is a lie and what is the truth?  He was told that everything with publicity is act and an illusion, not realizing that also meant in real life too.  Will Jonah ever know what Lacy is hiding from her past?  Will Lacy and Jonah find a way to be together without destroying what they both love, singing? When Jonah Riley’s father dies unexpectedly, he, his grieving mother and ailing sister are forced to move from the country to Austin, Texas. Jonah finds work at an auspicious night spot called Southern Nights, where he earns a few extra bucks as a bouncer-turned-musician.

There he meets fiery songstress Lacy Abernathy, who has no use for him or anyone else in the club when she’s not on stage. This is an entirely new experience for this ladies’ man. The opportunistic club owner latches onto this chemistry to fill her club, playing with their hearts and livelihoods for her own questionable motives.

Enter music executive Graham Baxter, who offers them both a way out…by competing for a recording contract they both need. Now if only they can fight the intense chemistry that keeps them locked in battle, when they're not locked in each other's arms, that is!
