RELEASE DAY of OUT OF THE ASHES by S.M. Lynn

SYNOPSIS:

Can love really
conquer all?  Even when the secrets are
so big, someone could die for keeping them, has died to keep them?
Celeste Brooks
is haunted by a past she cannot escape.
Plagued by nightmares and fear that her secret will be discovered, she
buries herself in her MBA and work, opening up to no one except her roommate,
Gavin.  Until her path crosses with his.

Ian Jacobs made
a vow when his heart was broken that he would never allow anyone that close
again.   Being a sexy business mogul has
its perks, and having many attractive women throw themselves at you is just
one.  Until his path crosses with hers.
As soon as Ian
finds Celeste has applied for a position with Jacobs Enterprises, he takes
matters into his own hands, knowing that he must possess this woman at any cost.  Celeste finds herself under Ian’s spell and
knows that she will do anything to be close to this man.
Including revealing her secrets?  As their paths, past and present, collide,
they must decide to risk it all or leave each other behind.

EXCERPT:

Stepping out onto the sidewalk,
he wraps me in his arms and lifts me off the ground.  “I was beginning to worry that you were
having second thoughts.”  He nibbles on
my earlobe as he whispers in my ear.

“Never” is my only reply as he
opens the door and helps me into the car.
I give him the address and he relays it to the driver before closing the
panel between the front seat and us.

“Are you sure we haven’t met
before?”  He tips my chin up to look into
my eyes.

“No, I don’t think so.  But everything about you does seem familiar
like déjà vu or something.”  I run my
hands up his thigh to cup his growing erection.

“Well, sweetheart,” he says
leaving a trail of kisses down my neck, “when I see something I want, I tend to
take it.”  His lips set fire to my
skin.  “But perhaps introductions are in
order before we arrive at your apartment?”

“If you don’t mind, I’d rather
just keep it anonymous.  I’ve been so
wrapped up in life for the last few years that I need a night to let go.”  To forget, I think to myself.  “Please.
For tonight?”

“For tonight?  Sure, but I can pretty much guarantee I’m
going to want to see you again so after tonight, we’ll have to talk.  There’s no way I’ll be able to get the taste
of your sweet skin out of my head.”

As much as I wish that this could
be more than one night, there’s no way it’ll be any more than this.  I would’ve thought it would make me feel
cheap to give myself to a man I hardly knew because despite the past, I barely
know him.  Being with him though, I’m
overcome with a sense of peace.  A sense
that, at least for tonight, I’ll be in arms that will protect me from all the
evil, which constantly threatens to catch up with me.  As we near the building, I find myself
longing for that protection and security more and more.

This is dangerous ground to tread
on.  Bringing my past way too close to my
present but I have to have him.  I just
need to keep reminding my head and my heart that after tonight we’ll just be
nameless strangers to one another.  And I
have to be okay with that if I’m going to go through with this.  There’s no doubt in my mind that one night
with him will break my heart but the memory of tonight will sustain me for a
long time to come, probably the rest of my life.  So I settle into his lap to enjoy the rest of
our brief ride to my apartment.

Entering the elevator, the sexual
tension is thick between us.  He pulls me
close as his hands find the pins holding my hair.  He releases them allowing my hair to flow
over my shoulders and down my back.  His
fingers run through the loose curls causing my scalp to tingle.  The tingle shoots all the way from my scalp
down my body to settle between my legs, where it became a constant throb.

The ding of the elevator,
signaling our arrival to our destination, is the only thing that keeps me from
ripping his clothes off right then and there.
I can’t believe how brazen I am this evening.  This isn’t me at all but then again isn’t
that why I came to New York in the first place?
To get as far away from the old me as possible?  I unlock the door and usher him through into
the living room.  “Can I take your
jacket?”  I ask as he drapes it over the
back of the sofa.

“Is this alright?”  He asks indicating his jacket.  I can only nod as the electricity builds
between us.

Wetting my lips again, I ask,
“Would you like a drink?  I believe we
have some cognac here.”  Letting him know
that I noticed his drink of choice earlier.
“Or we have some champagne.”  His
gaze drifts to the counter separating the living room from the kitchen and
rests on the champagne in the ice bucket and two glasses.  “Oh sorry, my roommate and I had a couple
glasses before we left for the club.
Tonight was sort of a celebration for me.”  I shrug as if to say it was no big deal.  “But there’s still plenty left and I have
another bottle in the wine fridge if you’d like some.”

“Champagne would be
wonderful.  So what were you
celebrating?  I feel a little guilty
pulling you away from your friends knowing that you were out celebrating.”  In a few long strides, he stands in front of
me.  “But I won’t say I regret it.”  His lips once again find mine; the champagne
and questions are all but forgotten.  My
hands tangle in his hair and his grip on my waist tightens like it’s his only
lifeline.  Not wanting to break our kiss,
I gently guide us down the hallway to my bedroom.  He moves us through the door and in a swift
move kicks the door shut with his foot.
Once the door closed the need engulfing, my body grows
exponentially.  I reach for the buttons
on his shirt wanting to remove all barriers between us.  My clumsiness and inexperience are definitely
noticeable but he doesn’t say anything, just helps guide my fingers from one
button to the next until the shirt lies in a pool at our feet.

I reach up the side of my dress
and find the zip.  Pulling it down with
the dress, it soon joins his shirt on the floor and I stand before him in a
lacy bra, thong and my heels.  His
breathe catches in his throat and I can tell he definitely enjoys the
view.  “My god, you are so beautiful.”  He pulls me to him and takes my mouth once
more then begins his exploration down my body.
Trailing kisses from my neck down to the tops of my breasts and then
over my stomach until he is kneeling before me.
He looks up at me silently asking permission.  I fist my hands in his hair and throw my head
back in answer.  If I thought his
intention was just to remove the thong, I was very wrong.  With a slight tug, there’s a ripping sound as
the small piece of fabric falls away from my body.  He holds it in his fist for a moment just
staring at my naked pussy before he lowers his lip to my clit and sucks
hard.  The sensation almost causes me to
fall over.  Sensing my weak knees, he
pushes me back against the bed until I’m sitting as he continues working me
over with his tongue.  “Ah god, that
feels incredible.”

“Angel, you taste
incredible.  You are incredible.  I was right before when I said I wouldn’t be
able to get enough of you in one night.”
His fingers slip between my folds and he presses one into me.  I gasp at the feeling.  “Shit!
You are so fucking tight.  This is
heaven.”

Excerpt
Walker sat on one of the stage steps, his chin in his hand as he spoke to the screaming crowd. “I need a volunteer for this next part.” His head raised slowly, his eyes scanning the crowd.
Keri jumped up and down like a crazy person, waving her arms and screaming his name. I laughed at her antics and sat perfectly still, not wanting to bring any more unwanted attention to myself.
Another tap on my shoulder caused my irritation to bubble as I turned to what was sure to be that annoying overly made-up stupid girl again.
It wasn’t.
I came face-to-face with a giant of a man wearing all black and holding a walkie-talkie. Intimidated, I took a half step back and looked around for Keri.
“Come with me.” His tone implied a demand, not a request, and I suddenly wondered what I’d done wrong.
Who the hell was this guy? He’s not the boss of me. He’s not going to tell me to come with him and think I’ll just obey. I frowned and said quickly, “Uh. No, thanks.”
He flashed his VIP backstage pass in my face as if it were the only credential he needed. “Miss. It’s part of the show. Can you come with me, please? You’ll be onstage with Mr. Rhodes.”
Oh.
Well, shit.
I guess he could be the boss of me, after all.
I shot Keri a surprised look before I was quickly hauled off in the direction of an almost completely darkened backstage area. We walked through a black curtain before we were hit with lights and blaring music.
“I’m going to bring you onstage.”
“And then what?” I asked, suddenly nervous. Not to be around Walker Rhodes, but nervous at the thought of standing in front of thousands of screaming people with cell phones ready to record my every move.
I started to tremble. Afraid my legs wouldn’t hold me up any longer, I begged the security guy to help me out there. He smiled at me and gave me a little shove.
Thanks, you dick.
Next thing I knew, I was standing onstage, my face mere inches from Walker’s. Walker no-human-being-should-be-anywhere-near-this-gorgeous-in-real-life Rhodes.
AboutTheAuthorJ SterlingI got fired from my last job.
It's true.

I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you are???" And i'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is... being This! Awesome! is clearly very scary to other less awesome people. :)

So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working my ass off for someone who doesn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul feels more satisfied.
My heart, more full.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.
I think you're awesome- and not only am I not scared of other awesome people, I want them on my team!

Cover REVEAL SUMMER SKY by Lisa Swallow

Book title: Summer Sky by Lisa Swallow
Series: Blue Phoenix #1
Genre: Contemporary romance
Release date: April 2014

Sky changed her life for a man once, and she has no intention of doing it again - even if he is a six foot, tattooed rock god who makes a mean bacon sandwich.

Sky Davis is fed up of boyfriend Grant taking her for granted and when she comes home to find him wearing a girl, Sky suspects the relationship is over. She takes an unscheduled holiday and leaves the life (and guy) she hates behind.

Rock star Dylan Morgan is struggling with fame and infamy, sick of his life being controlled by other people. Dylan cuts his hair and walks away from his role as lead singer of Blue Phoenix, leaving chaos and speculation behind.

Outside the English seaside town of Broadbeach their cars and worlds collide.

Sky decides Dylan is an arrogant guy with too many tattoos, and Dylan is amused by the smart-mouthed girl with no idea who he is. Dylan and Sky soon discover they’ve travelled to Broadbeach for the same reason - to escape from reality back to a place with happy childhood memories.

Losing themselves in a world where they know nothing about each other, Sky and Dylan begin a summer romance that soon heats up their rainy English summer.

Fantasies can’t last forever and when reality crashes the party, Sky isn’t sure she wants to be more than his ‘summer Sky’ but Dylan doesn’t want to let her go.

Returning to the real world and public scrutiny isn’t their only problem. Blue Phoenix bass player, Jem Jones, has a reason for wanting Sky out of Dylan’s life, and is determined to come between them. Some things won’t stay hidden, even when they’re paid to ‘go away’.

Summer Sky is a quirky romance where occasionally more than the bacon sizzles. This is the first in the new ‘Blue Phoenix’ series of contemporary rock star romances.

Please note: this is a romance with a rock star hero, and not an erotic rock star book!

"Sky! Waves!"

I have my back to the ocean and a wave crashes against my legs, destabilising me. I regain my footing and attempt to move before the retreating water sucks my feet into the sand. At that moment a larger wave wipes me completely, dragging my body underwater. I panic at the confusion of being pushed and pulled out of my control, seawater swirling hair into my face and the bubbles rushing into my ears. The shell remains tightly gripped in my hand.

As water draws away, I push my head free. Dylan stands on the edge of the shore, water lapping his ankles, laughing. I spit out sea water and stagger to my feet. The weight of the damp hoodie threatens to pull me down again as I push hair from my eyes.

"That was fucking funny! You should see your face!" He wades towards me, arm outstretched to help.

Attempting to keep my footing, I lunge at him and slap his hard chest with both palms. "It was not! Screw you!” Dylan catches my arms as I make contact, and pulls me towards him.

Scrutinizing my face briefly, Dylan takes my cheeks in his broad palms and crushes his lips against mine. I gasp again, but it's not the sea snatching my breath this time. A new wave sways us, and Dylan holds my face tightly, his own footing steady as his mouth claims mine. A small voice in my head asks what the hell I’m doing but I ignore it - Dylan overwhelms all common sense the moment I have any physical contact with him. Losing myself in his mint-flavoured kiss, in the slide of his cool tongue, I yield to the power he holds over me. Dylan curls his fingers into my wet hair and pulls me closer; I respond with a deep kiss, tracing fingers across his stubbled cheek.

Fierce or gentle, his kisses mould my soul to his as perfectly as his body shapes with mine, as if we’re in a place created by our coming together. Kissing Dylan last night pulled me into his orbit, and when I see stars again, I swear his kisses will always take me to the edge of his galaxy. If Dylan can remove me from reality with just this, god knows what anything else he's skilful at would do to me. The thought of us skin on skin, united through more than a kiss, lights a fire deep inside that would take more than the cold Cornish sea to extinguish.

Dylan loosens his grip on my hair and slides his hands across my damp back. He closes the final gap between us as our bodies meet, and I wish the rain-soaked clothes weren’t in the way. “I have never met anyone so…” He grasps for a word then gives up and rests his forehead on mine. “I feel as if I’ve waited my whole life to meet you and then suddenly you’re here.”

For a moment I consider whether he’s teasing me again, but I guess I’m very different to the people in his real life. "I can honestly say I've never met anyone like you, Dylan Morgan."

He wipes water from my cheek with cool, damp fingers. "No-one’s met Dylan Morgan apart from you. Not for a lot of years, anyway.”

I stare at the truth reflected in his pale blue eyes, unable to believe any of this is reality. His grip on my back loosens, and I step back. Rain drips down his face, soaking through his T-shirt and clinging to his body in a way that does nothing to help my mounting desire to get my hands on him.

A subject change is needed rapidly, before I begin drooling.
